We are living in the era of iconic stress that kills and reduces pleasure
The stress that is advanced, granular, and ever-present meaning all the time in different forms. I am surprised to see how my life had rolled up when it comes to stress, relationship challenges, work challenges, missed expectations etc.
To give you an example from my personal life:
Recently John has been away for a month long training and I am feeling more lonelier than ever. I realise, after marriage, I have become tooooo dependent on him and stopped prioritsing my personal pleasure and well-being apart from him. And my learning had been if you don’t prioritise your personal pleasure, you will suffer, your relationship will suffer. The same goes true even when you are single and unpartnered. Prioritizing your personal pleasure, means you are happy, content, open to life and not desperate, clingy!
Similarly other stressors like job demands, growing up kid, missed gym sessions, family dynamics and so on. Life becomes one treadmill.

Pleasure that is clarity of thought, that is rooted in self-worth, supported with compassion for self and others, and that nourishes our body, spirit, and heart.
I have gone through tough chapters of life and have emerged from them and even in my most difficult of the life struggles, this orientation to pleasure has kept me going and thriving.
For me pleasure is contentment and satisfaction and this is the understanding + framework I have arrived at that will bring you closer to your natural state of happiness and bliss.
